Abstract

This research discusses the conflict of interest regarding the management of Matras Beach levies between two parties, namely Pokdarwis and the private sector. This conflict causes contestation of the interests of both parties and at the same time there is a process of social interaction in the conflict that occurs. Therefore, the research aims to analyze the dynamics of conflict and reconciliation between the parties involved. This research uses sociological theory, namely Lewis Alfred Coser's theory of the positive function of conflict. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive qualitative design. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. Researchers used a technique for determining research informants, namely purposive sampling. Research informants include Pokdarwis Management and Matras Beach Management in 2022. The research results obtained were analyzed using Miles and Hubermas data analysis, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this research show that conflict dynamics result in conflict between new managers and old managers, causing the source of economic growth to stop in Matras Village. Reconciliation efforts are an effort made by Pokdarwis to take over management again with various social movements in the form of protests against the existence of the Matras Beach Management Party in 2022. The Matras Beach Management Party was able to pressure the Matras Beach Management Party in 2022 to hand over the management of the distribution of Matras Beach through demonstrations based on the results of the agreement reached. discussed together. In the end, the Matras Village Pokdarwis was chosen as the management party for the Matras Beach levies. Sociologically, there was social conflict until an agreement was agreed that the Matras Beach Manager would resign in 2022, which was made based on the signing of the agreement. So this research concludes that the consensus process regarding social conflict is based on the positive function theory of forced consensus conflict. The positive function of the conflict can be seen from the absence of demonstrations and the life of the local community returning to harmony and social order.
