Abstract

Abstract

The waste bank program is an empowerment activity to make changes in managing the waste that the community produces. This study aims to determine the level of community participation in waste management at Bank Sampah El Ha Ka in Pangkalpinang City and analyze the form of social capital related to community participation in waste banks. This research uses Qualitative Research Method with a descriptive approach. Data collection using direct interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of this study show that the existence of waste banks provides benefits both in terms of economic, social, educational, and environmental. Regarding the level of participation in this study shows active. So as to provide social capital values to the people of Pangkalpinang City. The obstacles still faced by Bank Sampah El Ha Ka are the value of the selling price and also the waste bank storage area that has not been maximized.
